The Hong Kong trip finally ended. Actually, it ended on Tuesday, and I spent Wednesday in Kuala Lumpur.
But hey, the trip was cool enough. I guess I have the time to provide details, despite my hawk-like mother hovering around ready to snap my fingers from the keyboard. xDD Watch out, dearies. It's going to be long.
First Day, Thursday, 26th March 2009
I faked stomachache throughout the school hours. The boys in my class are to be blamed for the scenario! Those parrots probably would be telling the teachers that I'm rushing for the plane instead of really being ill. Anyways, Viatrix is the only one who knows, and I successfully left school with my dad and my sister at estimatingly.. 12.15 PM.
3.15 PM, I boarded the plane. My family turns out to be the last to board, since we were too busy gnawing KFC chicken, and munching French Fries and Nuggets to notice that we're on the brink of missing our flight.
We checked in the nearest hotel, Tune LCCT Hotel upon arriving the KLIA LCCT Airport. The rooms were unbelievably tiny, and we have to split into pairs. My dad and I resolved to sharing a room, while my mum and my sis shared the neighbouring room.
We haven't arrived Hong Kong yet, and we already started shopping. We spent 4 hours in Midvalley shopping. Seriously, I have never left MPH with less then three novels in the shopping bag, and yet this time, I worship myself for being able to restrain my greed in buying the whole bookstore. I left MPH with only ONE novel, ONE damned novel in hand. Ugh. The book is The Other Queen, which I managed to finish reading exactly the same day, written by my all-time favourite author, Philippa Gregory I had succeeded turning my cousin, Feng Yi to becoming Gregory's fan. See how awesome Gregory is?
Second Day, Friday, 27th March 2009
3.30 AM, my dad and I scrambled up from bed and fought over the toilet to get ready. Ohmigod, I stared into the mirror and found myself looking human enough, but I sure don't feel human. We took the shuttle bus to the airport, arriving there within ten minutes. International flights require the passengers to arrive by the least, two hours before boarding time. The plane was supposed to be due at 6, but we ended up boarding it at 6.30 anyway. Flight delay.
And then, behold, Hong Kong within four-hour flight. I spotted a deliciously cute guy, who was blended with his group of friends, consisting of four guys, including him, and a single girl. Except noticing the fact that he was handsome, I didn't expect much, least to say speak or meet him by name. But I guess I was lucky. He slammed into me just outside the train in the Hong Kong Airport, I fell and he helped me up, and with that, both of us missed the train. Hah. Dramatic, eh? We were left alone to wait for the second ride, and well, we talked. Turned out he was half an Italian, and half a French. Ooh. Sweet. His name's Nikolai. We exchanged emails.
My family made a beeline to Disneyland, and checked-in to Disney Hollywood Hotel. Yeah, the cheaper one. But who cared? The room was pretty cool. We didn't manage to play too much stuff, since it started raining in the afternoon. But the rain stopped at night, just in time for us to watch the firework spectacular. I love it. It's marvelous. It's brilliant. It's by far, my favourite event in the Disneyland trip.
The stuff sold there was ridiculously expensive. The food in the theme park was also incredibly expensive. But undeniably, the theme park was pretty. How could it not be? With the price of the tickets and everything else, I'd kill whoever manages the theme park if the theme park was common.
Third Day, Saturday, 28th March 2009
Brilliant weather! It's neither too cold, nor hot. It's something in between, and though the wind is chilly, it's perfect for outdoor playing. We explored the Adventure Land first, where we played Jungle Cruise. It's really awesome. Next stop was the 3D theatre. That one was remarkable. Quite my favourite, too. We visited the Small World, where we took a boat through a mini-world complete with small miniature dolls. They were so cute! I took videos and a few pictures of the ride, which I will eventually manage to plaster on the blog. We had lunch, and continued our adventure to the Futureland, where we took the Space Mountain ride. It was actually a roller coaster ride in the dark, which added to the excitement and thrill. Another favourite of mine in Disneyland. I would had took a few more rides if it wasn't because my Dad felt sick after taking the ride.
Later then, we watched the fireworks for a second time. I insisted on watching a second time, since I loved the show so much. We left Disneyland at about 8.20 PM, collected our luggages, hailed a cab, and went to Zhim Sha Zui, where we checked-in to the Kow Loon Hotel. Ironically, it's right behind the Peninsula Hotel, which was the most luxurious, most exquisite hotel in whole Hong Kong - there was nobody who do not know of it. And we live at the cheaper hotel right behind it.
That night, I met Auntie Man - who was BFFs with my own mum for over thirty years ever since like, primary school? She married a Hong Kong resident, and now permenantly resides in Hong Kong. I haven't seen her since I was ten years old. Somehow, I always remembered her as the very funny auntie. Auntie Man was, by far, my favourite woman among my mother's friends.
Fourth Day, Sunday, 29th March 2009
There isn't much to say about the fourth day. We woke up slightly later than the third day, and went shopping. First stop, was the Esprit Outlet. For your information, our hotel was located most perfectly. We were minutes of walk away from the Space Center, Avenue of Stars, Hai Gang Cheng, numerous fashion boutiques and cuisine streets. You can imagine how excited both me and my mother was. We practically enter every single fashion boutique available. Giordano, Ans, Bossini, Armani, Burberry, Elle, just anything. Although actual purchasing was unnecessary.
I did buy some clothes though. A woolen-knitted black jacket with ermine-fur-adorned hood; a denim-fabric, gray, collared sweater; an orange-red-striped, long-sleeved, round-collared, sparkle-bead-adorned, loose-fitting shirt; and a grayish-blue denim, pocket hunter trousers. All from Esprit, for a mere 900 HK Dollar bill. And that's cheap. Very cheap. They were clearing out their winter season stock, you see.
At night, about 8 PM, Auntie Man came with her husband to pick us up for dinner. We went to Pizza Hut, and I met Joyce and Nicole, her daughters. They were both sitting for exams the next day, and I was almost afraid to even speak to them! They were so diligently munching on books in preparation for the exams. We had a HUGE dinner, consisting of two enormous pizzas, two big bowls of asparagus spaghetti and bolognaise spaghetti, sixteen pieces of chicken wings, a platter of French treaties, and some more stuff which I simply cannot recall the names of the delicacies.
Guess what's the bill? 800 + HK Dollar.
Screeching banshee, I have never ate Pizza Hut with a bill more than RM 150, least to say RM 400 + .
Fifth Day, Monday, 30th March 2009
My dad, my sis and I scrambled up at 8.30 AM, just so we can get ready to follow the hotel trip to Ocean Park. Damn it! We so should go to the Ocean Park for the first and second day. Disneyland was so not worth our money. With the very limited games provided, the high price for the tickets were totally a waste in Disneyland. Ocean Park was much better.
We went on a mini-coaster ride, which was pretty cool as well, with all the dives. Then the Abyss - which I estimate is about 20-stories high. I alone went on that. It shot up into the clouds, then zoomed downwards at an incredible, breath-taking speed. Next, the official roller coaster, which again, I rode alone. Three 360-degree loops in a row! Marvelous. Weirdly enough, I thought all the games still failed to feed my hunger for some adventurous rides.
I mean it. I'm a pretty bold girl who cared nothing about those rides. I could do with so much more adventurous rides. Genting Highland's roller coasters were like baby games for me. Ocean Park's didn't make much difference.
A rather comical event took place though, in the middle of the trip. Three of us took the cable car ride down to the lower part of the park, and ended up having to immediately line up to take the cable car ride up again - because unfortunately, the queue was freakin' long, like, from the gates of Chung Hwa Primary School to the gates of Chung Hwa Secondary School. It was like, wow; it was like, fuckin' hell WOW. And no exaggeration there! We have to wait fourty-five minutes before we get into a cable car again!
Luckily, I get to share a cable car with a very handsome guy with platinum blond hair. Haha. Unfortunately, he was taken, so I failed to seduce him. xDD Just kidding. Memphis really wasn't capable of seducing her own teddy bear, least to say any guy.
Avenue of Stars awaited us at night. We strolled along the pavements, observing handprints into cement of celebrities including Jackie Chan, Zhang Bo Zhi, Gigi Lai etc. Then the Lights Spectacular - which was nothing much but a combination of colourful lights flashing in the night skies. We got the wrong location, and thus failed to get a nice view of the show. But even if we do, what truly captivated me was the night view. Our location overlooked the wide river, and across were buildings scattering along the river. A magnificent sight.
Then, it was dinner time. We went for Fire Pot, AKA Huo Guo. There was a promotion, and everything was cheaper than we imagined. And everything came in enormous proportions, too! It was the coolest dinner ever. I had abalone, which was just slightly smaller than my own fist. Seriously!
Sixth Day, Tuesday, 31st of March
Pretty average day. My mum got up the earliest, probably at something like 8 AM, and marched out to resume her shopping ventures; while my dad, my sis and I laid in till 10 AM. We eventually did crawl up to poke our noses around the area. Our lunch was cool enough. Abalones, again; - we never get tired of eating them, do we? - goose's web, Shark's Fin, and everything else expensive you can think of. We had a lot of HK dollars left, and we decided to spend them off, you see.
We spent another hour in the Bossini boutique, where both my sister and my dad bought a great deal of stuff. My dad, is once again, young! Hip hip hooray <333
Seventh Day, Wednesday, 1st April 2009
I particularly enjoyed the fact that my friends were all being teachers' slaves in school while I was happy enjoying my dad in KL. The last day didn't turn out that well. We went to Sogo for shopping, since it was nearest to our hotel. That was very, very, very bad. It doesn't have a bookstore, holy crap! I was furious at the fact, but never mind. We survived the storm anyway. In fact, the storm I brewed up.
We left at 5 PM, and went to the airport, where I eventually convinced my Dad to allow me to buy another book from the LCCT Emporium. The Devil Wears Prada, written exclusively by Lauren Weisberger. Despite I just bought it, I am right now, almost done with it. I read books at an alarming speed. Many of my friends experienced this. Not really fresh news. I didn't manage to get on the PC as I did the previous few days, but oh well. We arrived in KB at 9 PM something.
Home sweet home.
No one's sleeping in front of the PC, right? I know this is long. But I have so much to tell!
